Key Features of the Janome HD9 9 QC
A new floating dial allows the presser foot to lift slightly, reducing layer slippage and wrinkles when sewing quilts, knits, velvet, and other delicate or textured materials. A presser‑foot height indicator shows the exact lift level.
Free‑motion quilting is now possible without a darning plate, and dropping the feed dogs also makes inserting thick or fluffy materials easier.
The HD9 QC Pro features a 229 × 150 mm (9″) workspace, offering more room for quilts, bags, and large projects.
This model increases maximum speed from 1,600 to 1,650 stitches per minute, maintaining stable stitch quality on both thick and thin fabrics.
The upgraded LED lighting system includes brightness control, which remembers your settings even after powering off.
A new front cover opens for easy cleaning of lint and thread buildup (a major usability improvement).
Designed for thick threads and heavy materials, this guide stabilises tension and improves stitch control.
The HD9 QC Pro uses a larger‑capacity bobbin, reducing bobbin changes during long seams. This bobbin can fit 3 to 4 metres of additional thread per bobbin, meaning you can sew for longer (depending on thread thicknesses and type).
The main shaft is supported by eight enclosed ball bearings, delivering a smoother, quieter, and more durable operation with every stitch. Furthering Janome’s commitment to excellence, this machine low internal friction design not only results in increased speed, it offers a level of control that is unmatched in the industry.
Industrial‑strength performance with home‑machine convenience: thread cutting is available via button or remote cutter.
Fine‑tune presser‑foot pressure for any fabric thickness.
Ensures smooth thread flow with minimal resistance.
Janome's Design Philosophy
Janome describes the HD9 QC Pro’s design as rugged, robust, and refined, with bold planes and sharp linear edges inspired by precision woodworking tools. The internal structure has been re‑engineered to reduce overall volume while expanding workspace, and the horizontal accent panel aligns the machine visually with the CM8P series.
